Hey Nugget!
It's been quite a while since I wrote to you. That's one thing you will learn quickly about Mom-- she gets ideas and is really excited about them for a brief moment, and then promptly forgets about them until a later date. Dad likes to call it my "goldfish memory." I was curious just now and looked up the facts on wikipedia: apparently a goldfish can remember something for three months! That's much longer than I would have thought given how much Dad makes fun of me. :) The good news is that when I'm upset about something I forget it pretty quickly too. I think it's a good quality, but you might disagree when I forget to pick you up from soccer practice or something.
We recently found out that you are a boy! Who would have thought? Everyone in my family has a girl first, so I was pretty surprised to hear it! Your Dad was initially very confident about your being a boy, but I think I swayed him with my sureness to the contrary. Looks I was totally wrong though! I am pretty psyched about you being a boy, I was have four brothers so I'm ready for whatever rough 'n tumble games lay in store for us. Dad and I also bought this awesome wall art for your room-- it's Zelda Windwaker (which is totally perfect if you know Daddy and me-- we both love games and Windwaker was my favorite). It's pretty much adorable and I hope you like it. We also painted your room last weekend with the help of both of your grandmas and your aunt Rylee. It's a dark green-blue, which is good for the Windwaker/oceany type theme we're going with.
We also decided on your name recently. Unfortunately, I can't tell you what it is because your grandmas are chomping at the bit to know, and Daddy and I are pretty convinced that we're going to receive some flak as to our choice. WE think it's perfect however, and I hope you like it too. I've been singing it to you and you sometimes kick at me, I think that means you like it??
That's another thing. You have been kicking the SHIT out of me lately. It feels funny, almost tickly in my stomach when you start moving. You've been getting stronger and stronger and now I can see my tummy move when you kick, that's how hard you kick me! I love feeling you kick though, it makes me know that you are okay in there and having a good time. At the beginning, I was always worried that something was going to happen to you because you're my perfect little baby. But now I have a daily, if not hourly reminder of your presence and I couldn't be happier.
Baby boy, I hope you know that if anyone could have been conjured into existence simply by being wanted, it was you. I wanted you so very much and I wished and wished for you and I could hardly believe it when you were finally here. I've had some extraordinary good luck as far as having your Dad goes, and now I'm lucky enough to have you too! I can't believe how great my life is! I love it and I love you too, my son.
I don't know how good of a mother I will be to you but I can already tell you that you will have one very special thing-- parents that truly love one another. I am happy to have a husband that I adore and I can tell you that every part of you that is like him will be adored as well (the parts that are like me as well of course, but you know what I mean). I hope we are a good example for you, and you see what it's like when people really love each other.
Well that's enough for now, little one. Mom's gotta go do some writing. Need to get this hoppin before you get here! Love you!

Sup Nugget?
Today I am feeling much better than earlier in the week. You have certainly amped up the morning/afternoon/everyminuteofeveryday sickness and I was pretty unhappy about that, especially when I projectile vomited my entire dinner the other night. Not cool, little one. Luckily, I went to the doctor on Monday and they gave me a Rx for Zofran, so far it has been working like a charm! I feel a TON better when I take it. I've also started getting a little more energy for doing things. This is great! I had been getting used to feeling sluglike and tired ALL DAY and to feel like actually doing something is a great improvement. :)
I talked to my doctor and she said that exercising with you was fine, as long as I'm careful. I'll probably start doing some walking on the elliptical at night, and also some hand weights to work on Mom's flabby arms.
It's almost Dad's birthday, and I got him a pretty cool present. I hope he likes it. He says he knows EXACTLY what to get for me so we'll see what that is. Daddy is really good at knowing what Mom woud like, so it should be good. :)
August is a really busy month for us, little bean. You'll probably be whisked around just as much when you get here. So many birthdays and celebrations to go to! And everyone is going to want to see you, so there'll be that added bonus. I hope you're ready for a lot of people to love you!
I have an appt on Friday morning to see you again. It's a genetic abnormality test, but I get to see you so I don't care! Daddy might be able to come with us, so that will be fun. I think he likes to see you.
Anyway Nuggie, I gotta get going writing. I'm hoping to finish my book this month, also because I pinky promised Daddy if I didn't I would go look for a job! I don't want to, Nuggie, I gotta pretty good thing going here. Also I love writing, so it shouldn't be too hard to finish, right?? Hehe.
I hope you're feeling good in there, doing backflips and having a fun time! I sure do love you!

Foods!
Hey little Nugget!
It's been awhile since I wrote to you, but don't worry, I've definitely thought about you every single day! So far you have been making your presence felt in the form of Mommy's constant nausea and strange cravings for all kinds of bizarre foods! So far Daddy has been awesome at cooking up everything Mommy has asked for. He is a wonderful husband and I have no doubt he will be equally wonderful at being your Daddy. You'll discover soon that there are very few things Daddy isn't good at.
You and I have been taking daily walks with our friends Mary and Charli. Charli's little boy, Max, has come along with us on the trips. I can't wait until you're big enough to come join us! By the look of it, you'll be the last one here, so I'll just have to wait.
Speaking of waiting, your aunt Rylee is getting REALLY impatient to meet you. I already told her you have to cook in Mommy's belly for at least 7 more months, but she really doesn't want to wait. She wants to see you and play with you right this instant. I guess her and your Grammy (my Mommy) have been going wild buying you new things. Your Grandpa (Kevin) has bought you a John Deere onesie, it is pretty cute and silly!
Well baby, Mommy is super tired (pretty much every day!) so she's gonna go rest. Hope you're enjoying your lil swims inside my belly.
Love you!!

Baby Buddies!
Hey Nugget,
Guess what? Today I found out that Mary is pregnant too! Her baby is due just a month before you--in January. I was soooo excited to get that news! Your Auntie Mary and Uncle Michael are awesome people. They helped make our invitations and wedding cake when me and your Daddy got married. They also made us a cake topper for our one year anniversary and a TARDIS birthday cake for Daddy and my birthday last year! They are super creative!
I am really excited, Nugget, that I will be able to share all the experiences, good and scary, with someone else right now. It seems like Mary has already learned so much stuff about what to do when you have a baby in your tummy. Mommy is so far behind already!
Today I made a list of the names I like. I'm probably going to show it to Daddy soon to see what he thinks. Daddy likes to think of exciting names for you, names that have a kind of promise that you will dream big and do great things. I like that too. Daddy and I really want you to do amazing things, little Nugget. I hope you don't feel overwhelmed by our expectations! :)
Well Nugget, I have to get working on my story today. I was lazy and took a nap since I was feeling tired. I'm always feeling tired these days! Still, I want to get my novel finished by the end of this month. Maybe it will be published soon, too. Wouldn't that be an exciting world for you to be born into, Nugget? One where Mommy is a published author? I hope you're proud of me, I'm going to try my best!
Anyway, my tummy is hurting again baby, so I'm going to go. I love you very much and hope you stick around so that me and Auntie Mary can have baby buddies together!!
Love you very much,
Mommy

Tummy Rumbles
My Dear Little Nugget,
So far you are four weeks and three days old, according to the doctor. I don't know how that can be, since you didn't exist until two weeks ago, but who am I to argue with a doctor, huh?
I looked at a video on BabyCenter and they said you were about the size of a sesame seed. That's so small! So you're going to have to tell me-- if you're so tiny, how is that you're making my tummy hurt so much? When I sleep I have to turn around and around to try and make myself comfortable, and I wake up again and again to have to use the bathroom. People say it will only get more uncomfortable as time goes on, when I start getting bigger and you start communicating with me through kicks and punches. It's pretty uncomfortable, but I'm guessing you're worth it.
Little baby nugget, do you think I am complaining about you too much? I'm sorry about that. I only mean to tell you what it feels like to have you inside me, because I didn't know before what that was like before and it surprises me. I thought somehow I would feel you instantly, feel you moving and know you were in there. But do you know what? You're really just a tummyache right now. It's hard to believe you will grow into my baby.
Nugget, do you know what? You're going to have the best family ever when you finally get out of my tummy. I told my family about you yesterday and today, and boy were they all excited! It's hard to know who is more thrilled. You have two Grandmas, Grandma Laura and Grandma Sherry who are especially ecstatic; they have been waiting for you for some time. Your Grandpa Steve told me that "he's been waiting for that phone call forever." Your Aunt Rylee screamed when I told her you were here! She is determined to be the best Auntie you ever had. She already has nicknames picked out for you: CeCe Boo if you're a girl, Puddles if you are a boy. Don't ask about the Puddles thing, she'll have to tell you the story when you're older. Everyone else was excited too-- don't you worry. I wouldn't think it farfetched to say you will be the best loved baby who has ever been born.
My tummy hurts as I am writing this to you, Nugget. What are you doing in there? It is scary sometimes when I get these pains, I hope everything is all right in there. Do you know how scary it is to think about something happening to you? It terrifies me all the time. Each pain, each weird feeling makes me wonder if you are all right. You've only been with me for a short time, but already I know I'd be crushed if you left me. Stay with me. There's lots of good things waiting for you.
Your Daddy is feeling a little anxious, baby. He's never really had a baby around before and he isn't sure what to do. I know he'll be a great Daddy but he'll need a little convincing on the subject. He'll love you as soon as he sees you. I think he is getting excited though. He suggested a Mario level themed bedroom for you. Do you think that would be good? Let me know somehow, okay Nugget?
As for me, I feel like I've loved you all my life, baby. I've definitely always wanted you. I hope you stay safe and warm in there. Please be safe Nugget. I hope I will get to meet you in 8 months.
Your loving Mommy,
Kayla
